I found out Gallery Hakusen in Tokyo has all the Black Hook Press manga for sale on their website so I picked up Tadao Tsuge's Tale of the Beast, That Miyoko Asagaya Feeling by Shinichi Abe, Badass Babe! by Bonten Taro and 3 volumes of Dokudami Tenement by Takashi Fukutani. shop.hakusen.jp/Also picked up Maggots by Brian Chippendale. Directly from him, off his website! Sadly they don't have Sabu The Bruiser... the only one I'm missing.

I posted my copy on my collectors instagram and got a ton of replies asking where I got it. I think they had 2 left after my sale and they were gone the same hour I shared it haha

Scoop Scuttle! Anyone else pick this up? Full-on unhinged Wolverton cartoony-ness and you can see the influence on Crumb. Anyone know who influenced 1940s Wolverton? The white outlines around some stuff bugs me and there is so much fucking alliteration and cheesy wordplay though makes me want to die. But I love it very much.

Recently bought Gabriele Bell's My dog Jojo. Already read, and I liked this quite a lot.

This amazing book by the recently deceased Valium. Underrated comic genius, in my opinion.

Got a Big Damn Hard Boiled for $66 which is pretty much a grail find for me. Also picked up Blubber #6, Future #7, Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot by Miller/Darrow, and ordered all the Black Hook Press manga that was linked earlier in the thread. Update: Seller cancelled the sale on Big Damn Hard Boiled . They probably found out they could gouge someone on eBay for $400. Ah well...

Back when I was broke I saw Big Damn Hard Boiled for $40 at a used bookstore and I still regret not buying it

My preorder for Josh Cotter's Nod Away Volume 2 came in a couple weeks ago and I haven't gotten the time to sit down with it yet. I across The Man from the Great North by Hugo Pratt in the remainder bin at a local bookstore so I gave it a good home. Not what I was expecting story wise but I absolutely love his loose style. I should probably pick up some Corto Maltese stuff at some point. Sorry about the image sizes.

Finally dove into the world of patreon comic subscriptions and started subscribing to the Grixly patreon after reading a ton of McDonough's work on instagram during the pandemic.
