Clover! Another great mention, not just in the context of repetition but CLAMP's approach to layout is fascinating generally. I'm sure there are other examples, but they're among my favorites for the way they push certain shojo layout tendencies to a logical extreme. More reminiscent of Mondrian than traditional comics layout, really.

Sorry to bump the thread, but I have a few examples that might be of interest: - Stefanie Leinhos is a German formalist cartoonist, of particular interest is her zine Is There Something I Should Know? which makes heavy use of repetition as a formal device.
- Antoine Orand is French, also a conceptual cartoonist. His zine How We Met which tells a love story only making use of 3 panels which Orand moves around page-by-page.
- This comic and this comic by Spanish art-comics legend Micharmut, he did more stuff like it on that blog and on his other one that I can't locate at the moment.

How did I miss a Fall drop.. my biggest inspiration forever and ever. Bought Grotesque when I was 17, still a fan. Got over every musical obsession in my life, but the Fall is forever.
