hello fellow people of the paper arts!
I am in dire search of somewhere to get cheap xeroxes printed.
Price wise, looking for 3 cents per 8.5x11 print or cheaper
and hopefully the place can print close to the edge of the paper, like 0.125 - 0.25 inch border or there about.
Looking for a reliable place where you upload a pdf and they mail you a big box of prints.
I had been using a place called Best Value Copy (bestvaluecopy.com) for the last decade, and recently they've taken a huge dip in quality, I recently sent them 1200 dpi pdfs and they have send me back prints that look like 200 dpi at most, blurry and pixilated to hell. INSANE, this is fucking me up DEEPLY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING BEST VALUE COPY! Took a long time to get a refund too.
I just tried out a new place called 2centcopies.com that sent some very nice looking prints, crisp line quality, but they all have a 0.5 inch border around the edges, my files where formatted with 0.25 inch borders. The people are very nice and responsive, but I'm not sure if they'll be able to print my zine without the large border pre-set on their machine.
if anyone has any spot that is cheap and reliable drop a line!

I've found that you're better off getting your own printer to avoid the hassle of shipping and mistakes and everything. There are a bunch of pretty solid affordable options out there and you can google around for used and refurbished printers that aren't too costly. I gave up on using copy shops and mail order stuff a while ago for all the reasons you mentioned above haha. it pays for itself pretty quickly, especially if you're mostly printing black & white.

I was going to say Best Value at first until I finished reading. That's a big bummer. I've always heard they're hit or miss but I've only had good luck with them. But it's been almost a year since I last had them print anything.
I've got my own B&W laser printer, but was considering Best Value just to print some color covers on heavy stock for an upcoming book. I'll stay tuned to see if anyone has any suggestions.
