For 2023 I'm hoping to get back into the convention game (my last was December 2019). I'm wondering if anyone has any recs for conventions, especially those that are indie friendly.
One con I'm hoping to go back is SPACE in Columbus. I went there years ago and had a blast. I was also lucky enough to get a booth at Small Press Expo years ago, although I dunno if my stuff "fits" with their aesthetics in recent days.
Are there any other cons I should look out for?

Yeah would be nice to have a comprehensive resource for this. Off the top of my head:
Short Run (Seattle) TCAF (Toronto) MOCCA (New York) SPX (Maryland/DCish) Cartoon Crossroads (Ohio) CAKE (Chicago) MICE (Boston) RICE (Rochester, NY)
CAB (Brooklyn, NY) (RIP??)

I've heard Gabe say he wants someone with a new vision to start a show to replace CAB. But that was a great show!
There's also the Richmond Independent Comic Expo (another RICE), and Partners and Son did the Philly Comics Expo this year, which seemed cool. Permanent Damage in L.A. also seems really fun, more like a series of small events?

I managed to table at two shows late this year (Garden Gnome Zine Fair and Comic Arts Richmond) and I'm looking forward to doing more in 2023.
NOICE in Norfolk is up first in February, though they haven't sent out acceptance notifications yet.
Garden Gnome is gonna do another, bigger show in late April. That's in Lynchburg, VA.

Lots of good recommendations here! Thanks!
If anyone knows of a good con in the Southeast US (I live in Tennessee) that'd be even better, too.

The second annual Shenandoah Comic and Toy show is happening just outside of Harrisonburg, VA, in April. I went last year as an attendee and it was great and I'll be tabling this year. They get John Rose, who currently does the Barney Google and Snuffy Smith newspaper strip, as a special guest.

Oooo will check it out, thanks!
I've met John Rose a few times at the Reubens (we're both NCS members).

He's super nice! He took a few of my mini comics and zines at the last show and graciously flipped through and pointed out stuff he liked.

I'll probably be returning to Florida (namely the West Central region near Tampa) by February. I know there're many conventions in or nearby the area, but are there any specific ones you guys recommend?

I just came across this one that is happening February 18th in Fredericksburg, VA at University of Mary Washington. I'm going to table, especially since I didn't get into NOICE. It's very obviously some students trying to put together their first show. But that's awesome and it's semi-local to me. So looking forward to a good time. www.instagram.com/umweaglecon/sites.google.com/view/umweaglecon?pli=1

I grew up there middle school through high school and lived in downtown fredericksburg for a few years after college. My dad still lives in Spotsy (so this convention is a nice excuse to visit).

Ooo I went to Fluke few years back! That was fun. My friend Josh Nickerson goes there, being a local in the area.
