I kind of waffled a little bit on asking about this, at least until I could zero in and focus on exactly what I need advice/suggestions about
I had this idea of doing a zine covering horror movies, sort of like reviews but not in the context of rating or grading movies but just talking about them. I did already ask around about advice on how to write movies but that just leaves figuring out the format.
I guess I do kind of see it being short just I'm not laboring over it forever instead of just making and finishing it. I have a 1/2 page format in mind but I don't really know if I want it be constructed online as a pdf and printed or cut and collaged (printing out the text and then collaging it together and then running through a copy machine)
I suppose the answer to that could come down to what look or feel I'm going for but if I did go for the second option (kind of an old-school style of zine construction cutting and pasting everything manually), how to plan it out so the text and whatever images I want to use look good or at least readable. Same sort of thing with the first option. (I don't have Photoshop, btw)
I'm also trying to figure out how many movies to cover. The sweet spot is about 3 or 4 to start with but I don't know if it should follow some kind of theme or not
anyway, I think that's all I wanted advice about so far

Hey everyone, SWING wants comics really bad. We are a new lit mag in Nashville; our first issue is coming out next week. My only disappointment is that we didn't receive a single submission of comics. I didn't run in the right circles, until Luke Geddes, who sent me this link. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, spread the word: we want to look at your black and white work. Check out our web site and submit through the Submittable portal. You will hear back. Write to me at leighannecouch@gmail.com if you have any questions. www.porchtn.org/swing

Just do it, man. There have been thousands upon thousands of movie zines - some reviews, some fannish gushing, some academic, some subversive, some checklists, on and on. You do you. Please yourself first.
