So you're trying to create a distro? I'd be down with that. i guess? i dunno, it's more like a decentralized distro? i really just want to like put stuff in front of peoples faces who wouldn't ordinarily traffic in this kind of material haha. like the comics equivalent of going to a bar and hearing a band that you end up liking. serendipitous comic experiences. like get a cup of coffee and a comic for your commute. distro seems like such a huge word and there are already so many good ones, i'm hoping this is sort of something different.

Decentralized distro sounds more like it. It feels like a cool callback to the newsstand days of comic book except in locales that attract the artsy, creative crowd that might not necessarily read comics but would be interested in checking them out if put before their eyes.

When something doesn't sell well, whose fault is it? I'm a big Guided By Voices fan and I always felt like they were this example of, if you make good art people will eventually pay attention. They had six full length albums and many 7inches before they self-released Bee Thousand and then Matador rereleased it, and then the rest is history. And those early works are really some of their best. They just kept pushing. And even still after they stopped being on Matador, they just went right back to self-releasing. I know it's not always true, can't make a blanket statement on one example, but I've always been inspired to just keep pushing for myself.

QUESTION FOR YOU: if i did something like this would you want to be a part of it? i would love for this to be some kind of collective that had an umbrella name, although i realize that this instantly makes it vulnerable to becoming some sort of publisher or similar gatekeeping scenario since there will clearly be limited shelf space. but i think it makes more sense to have a variety of work to display than just my own stuff. I think this is a great idea I also think you should start a new thread in the creators tab I have a few more Q's
