I hope this hasn't been discussed before, I did a quick search and didn't see it.
I was trying to clean out bookshelf books the other night and my criteria was "if someone borrowed this and didn't return it, how sad would I be?" I got to Eleanor Davis's How to be Happy and decided I'd feel quite sad. If someone asked me "why do you like comics so much?" that would be the book I'd give them.
All of that to ask, what are some of everyone's favorite books collecting short stories from a single artist (or I guess team too)?
A few others for me: Gilbert Hernandez - Comics Dementia Nick Sumida - Snackies Gina Wynbrandt - Someone Please Have Sex with Me Peter Milligan and Brendan McCarthy - The Best of Milligan & McCarthy
Really really looking forward to: Lale Westvind - Grand Electric Thought Power Mother

for me it’s Parallel Lives by O.Schrauwen, didn’t love it quite as much as the previous ones when it came out but really warmed up to it over the years. Forever obsessed with mr.Yellow. Heads or Tails by Lilli Carré was also very important to me (her recent experimental animations are also very good and very different), and Low Moon by Jason.

And of course, pretty much all of the manga short story collections translated by Ryan Holmberg, but especially those by the Tsuge brothers, Hayashi Seeichi, and Shinichi Abe.

I read the Kessler Windowpane book for the first time today and that might already make the list
How To Be Happy was the first thing I thought of when I saw the post title
My answer would probably be the NVS collections As A Cartoonist and Disquiet.
The 3 Tatsumi short story collections D&Q did are among some of my favourite comics ever

Idk if Peter Bagge's Other Stuff counts bc there are multiple collaborators in it but I really enjoy that as well as the Liam Cobb book that came out last year from BDP
