One of the fastest preorders of my life. Yep. The only thing that kept it from being a 3 minute turnaround was doubling back to find July's coupon code. Thanks for the scoop, suntory !

mamalips had an even earlier scoop on that Hensley book - they asked Fantagraphics and it seems to be only available through comic book shops as per the blurb (so the preorder link probably won't work, I guess it's why the preorder date is also 1900) - so get yourself down to your local...

Well, they haven't refunded me yet... I took the on sale date as another gag around the theme. As for the "real" one?

Looks like they are re-printing Sir Alfred! Many of us paid a stupid amount to get this, largely because it was advertised as "First and only deluxe limited edition. 1000 copies". Seems kind of a cheeky loophole to re-release it now for a quarter of the price that The Beguiling have been selling them for (plus painful shipping costs). They just sold one on their ebay for $250 www.fantagraphics.com/collections/coming-soon/products/sir-alfred-3$100 for limited edition, but they list copies on their eBay for $160 or buy it now $240! beguilingbooks.com/item/2VKdnQbOQzakXMc47fM4aw

I'm stoked on the reprint, I don't own it! Ha, just borrowed and read it a couple times. I'm happy for it to be available again to the masses!
The $100 is still worth it for that beverage coaster!

I decided that $80, Beguiling's price until somewhat recently, was too rich for me, so I broke down and picked up the lovely French hardcover for a song and then kicked Tim $3 for a PDF in the original tongue... That said, no way I'm not doubling up now! The only thing more exciting that a reprint of Sir Alfred would be if he had a new comic on the way in a similar style. If only.

Y'all think Harkham will have additional issues of the magazine out between now and then?

Y'all think Harkham will have additional issues of the magazine out between now and then? Yes, it seems the next issue of Crickets will conclude the Blood of the Virgin: http://instagram.com/p/CfGRXB0PvlO

Is this really the best that Penguin RH can do?? Can someone refer me to a piece of art that doesn't address what it means to be human??? Reminds me of the CBABIH episode about Ganges, where Tucker says something along the lines that the success or failure of the book would depend on D&Q's ability to write good copy that reviewers could plagiarize.

Which reminds me that I think Amy Kuttab is doing a thing for Fantagraphics too.
NYRC is doing a Chantal Montellier collection called Social Fiction.

Nick Bunch from Reptile House said that a cool person they met at TCAF was Gabriel Howell, who I'd never heard of before, but who has a book called Forget Me Not coming out from Secret Acres in October, images of the art look interesting/well-done. I'm looking forward to it in the sense of getting a chance to look at it and get a feel for what it's doing moreso than active expectation.
