I'm still curious what his deal is... he was tweeting a while back about living in the woods with carnies, but, y'know- making art isn't free- he obviously has access to a computer and advanced tools. He never puts anything out but is somehow also kinda prolific?
Freakbuck alluded to a failed project they attempted with him. Kinda curious what happened there- he lives in my town so I may seek him out for the deets...

If you find anything please report back.. but I’m guessing he’ll either ignore you or swear you to some secrecy

Fremok just announced a Patrick Kyle book on Instagram -- seems to be a translation of Don't Come In Here. Of course that happens to be a book that fits the Fremok "house style" of two panels per page, which has become sort of a fascination for me. Do they encourage cartoonists to work this way? Do they have some long-winded philosophy about why it's a good format? They don't do much work in translation so did they pick Don't Come In Here because it fits the format? Someone who knows Patrick should ask!

Someone who knows Patrick should ask! This reminds me I once wrote a Tumblr post that was talking about how W The Whore uses two-panels pages and so does the Frank Miller/Lynn Varley Elektra Lives Again book. It's not on every page but I like thinking of calling that a Fremok house style book now

That Black Phoenix big volume that Floating World is releasing soon (or is out already?) looks really neat. I have only read from Rich Tommaso a story by a seal detective (is that right? ) many moons ago but I didn't like it too much. I have been following him in insta though for the last year cause his comics are so great a esthetically, I love seeing his pencils and inked works. So how is in terms of storytelling? Anyone who might have read the comicbook issues, how are they?

Some upcoming releases from Glacier Bay got announced yesterday. People seem excited about a Natsujikei Miyazaki collection - a 260 page collection of 33 short stories - and there's a follow-up to Tomohiro Tsugawa's Mermaid Town called D'Artagnan's Horse. (I liked Mermaid Town and reviewed it for TCJ so I will probably be into this one too.) They're also doing a print release of Hana Chatani's Give Her Back To Me, which was released digitally as part of the Shortbox comics fair last year.

Viz made some announcements today- The thing that seems most interesting to me, from an author I'd never heard of before, is a Dracula story by Shin'ichi Sakamoto, called #DRCL Midnight's Children.
