Yeah! That's new user devin I believe. I saw him posting about it on Reddit and that he links out to the actual Bubbles website and I suggested he hop on here. Always cool to see new outlets covering this stuff.

This new website of comics news seems interesting so far Why Calvino? Yeah! That's new user devin I believe. I saw him posting about it on Reddit and that he links out to the actual Bubbles website and I suggested he hop on here. Always cool to see new outlets covering this stuff. I've been found out! Really, thanks for the tip, though. This place is great: wonderful, comics loving posters and a refreshingly old-school vibe. I shall also endeavour to keep alternative-comics.com interesting and worth everyone's time.

Liking the blog, devin , shades of 00's comics internet, Comics Reporter/Comics Comics/ etc etc Thanks. Since I'm definitely still finding my feet (sorting out how best to format things, what post schedule to follow, etc.), that means a lot to me. Also, well spotted, the 00's internet is a HUGE part of the inspiration behind the site.... not that I could hope to match Spurgeon and the comics comics crew, of course!

Speaking of the 2000s internet.... I recently read somewhere that Optical Sloth, the comics review blog, has been going since, like, 2001 or something. That's amazing. The author, Kevin Bramer, deserves an award for longevity, if nothing else. Anyway, the sloth (I've always wondered if he reads slowly?) covers a lot of mini comics and the like, so it fits with this thread, too. www.opticalsloth.com/

This site is a real treasure. He mentions in his latest review how remarkable it is that John P. has done 82 issues of King-Cat, and doing an alt comics review blog for the last 20 years seems like it's on the level. Lotta respect to both those guys.

Not comics, but it is DeForge: www.artofthetitle.com/feature/top-five-michael-deforge/I really enjoyed this. I distinctly remember watching The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit and was surprised to read that it went straight to VHS. I'm also so intrigued by this site. From the About page: "Art of the Title is an online publication dedicated to title sequence design in film, TV, and beyond. . . . Launched in 2007, the site attracts an enthusiastic group of devoted readers from all around the world, currently reaching 400,000 readers per month and with 100,000 followers across its social media channels." 400,000 readers per month! What a niche! I love it. 400,001 now.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF6MySugNGYIn honor of yesterday, time to revisit this. It starts really around 9:50 Oh how times have changed! Edit: oh it's blocked from being embedded, well it's the 1990 Superbowl Half Time show which is a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Peanuts.

Tom Scioli was my favorite part of Kayfabe always, I love the way he thinks. His youtube channel has some great content, especially him breaking down Kirby comics these days. But I really loved these videos of his Godzilla comic that never was. Full of amazing ideas and very inspiring, lots of wisdom. The dude truly loves making comics. His idea for a "Manzilla", so simple and pure genius.
