That reminds me, someone's uploaded all the issues of Slash Magazine to Internet Archive. Gary Panter comix included. archive.org/details/slash_circulation_zeroI don't want to infringe on anyone's copyrights, but old issues of a defunct 70s punk zine seem okay, don't they? Anyway, I found out about this on Lars Ingebrigtsen's blog, which is definitely worth checking out. His Comics Daze posts are great and he did an amazing punk comix project, taking an exhaustive look at the RAW generation's output. lars.ingebrigtsen.no/lars.ingebrigtsen.no/punk-comix-index/

Didn't know about this illustrator, Steven M. Johnson until today when I came across his work. Is he famous? Should I had heard about him before? Anyway, very interesting stuff. And I find amusing he had a career during many years as a 'futurist' too. wertn.com/2020/11/steven-m-johnson/

I may be completely off-base, but my initial gut reaction saw the line work and color palette as a mix between Jeff Nicholson and Nick Drnaso

Interesting article about Epix, a publisher of underground comics in Sweden and his founder. www.tcj.com/when-adult-comics-came-to-sweden/Also it gives some details about how the distribution worked (and affected the demise of Epix) and also describes the general scene. Pretty solid article cause it covers so much. (tbh i had not heard of Epix before. only know about Galago since that publisher has survived up to now)
edit: just learnt that it seems that this article is a sort of summary of something that Lystring Forlag will publish in 2024 (for TCJ? I am unclear on this as Lystring Forlag posted this info in Swedish and I don't speak it) Whatever it is, i hope it is published in English, lol

I've been using today to try to learn more about comics in Spanish and especially ones from Latin America. Found out that there's a comic festival in Argentina called Crack Bang Boom founded by Eduardo Risso! They have their convention prize called the Preimos Trillo. Through the nominations for this year I found out that Enrique Alcatena's daughter is a pretty darn good artist and that she's also won a different award called the Premio Cinder. And through looking into that award I found this online comic publisher LocoRabia: www.behance.net/locorabiaI don't like reading comics online but their set up isn't too bad and they have a variety of art styles. Looking forward to checking in on them daily instead of reading sports and pro-wrestling gossip like I do now. Edit: I also found out from October 2013 to Septermber 2018, Zona Negativa had a series of 122 posts on comics from Latin America. I'm going to be kept busy for awhile. www.zonanegativa.com/category/secciones/historietas-desde-latinoamerica/

I found an amazing Argentinian magazine archive website that has what appears to be full issue scans of Fierro. The magazine carried Jose Muñoz, Carlos Sampayo, Alberto and Enrique Breccia, and Francisco Solano Lopez. ahira.com.ar/revistas/fierro/(The original subtitle was "For survivors" which ..wheww that's mighty strong)

Sorry if this feels like spam, but I realized that the AHIRA website also has scans of the magazine Hora Cero which ran: The Eternaut, Ernie Pike, Sgt. Kirk and Sherlock Time. I read that starting in 2009 Argentina has a national "Comics Day" and it's on the date of that the first issue of Hora Cero was released: September 4th. ahira.com.ar/revistas/hora-cero-suplemento-semanal/
