]I’d recommend tracking down Foam Bath/ Bubble Bath by Kovasznai: youtu.be/J60e4JX-D2sFeature length Hungarian freak out film- about a guy getting cold feet right before his wedding day and trying to woo his betrothed’s friend, it’s very psychedelic animation with a touch of imagist style. DeForge showed this on his movie stream last year and I’ve been obsessed with it. Tracked down a nice monograph on the director, who had a pretty fascinating career. This is on MUBI now. (I need to upgrade my Mac OS so that Prime Video will work on my browser again and this might be the thing that motivates me to do it.)

Currently watching Osamu Dezaki's 1982 anime feature Space Adventure Cobra and I gotta say it is pretty sick. Streaming via Retrocrush.tv , a site I know nothing about but seems to have a lot of stuff available for free.

A brief round up on some favorites and recents: Joe Cappa's short Ghost Dogs is on youtube now! I got to catch it a little earlier in an online GLAS screening and it was a personal favorite. Great piece of comedy horror. Inu-Oh, which arecomicsevengood mentioned earlier, will be out on DVD in two days! I got to see it in the theater and it was a real treat. The film is also available for digital purchase already. On Gaku: Our Sound isn't as new, but it's also great! And it's adapted from the self published comic "Ongaku to Manga" by Hiroyuki Oohashi. It's both deadpan and exuberant. The making of special feature gives a very in depth look at the creation of the film and their rotoscoping process. Have a Nice Day is also rotoscoped, but in a much more limited way. It's an independent feature from China, also deadpan but darker, a neo-noir. This one's not for everyone though I will say. My partner and I loved it, but some of our friends were put off by the limited animation and editing choices. Crapston Villas is on youtube (for now)! This stop motion series originally aired on the UK's Channel 4 in 1995. Crass, crude, and exceptionally chaotic, the show focuses on the lives of the tenants of a run down apartment building in London. It took me a few (brief) episodes to really get into this one but it's fascinating from the start and quickly became a favorite as well.

I'm thinking of: - Charles Burns reading Big Baby in Comic Book Confidential - Mark Beyer's The Adventures of Thomas and Nardo from Liquid Television... basically all the liquid television stuff from Bagge, Friedman, Sala, etc... - OK Soda ads: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaKkmaqx9V8what else am I not remembering? Little commercials count.
