Someone should reissue Renee French's Marbles In My Underpants with better book design.
In the same wheelhouse: Someone should do a collection of Jess Johnson's Nurture The Devil (along with their other work). One could theoretically launch an incredible publishing line with those books and a Mack White Villa Of The Mysteries (plus that serial that ran in Zero Zero and other short stories) collection.
And yeah I want a collection of (selected issues of) CF's Lowtide with one-sheets, etc. (Issue 8 is stuff that's in Powr Mastrs and the first couple are more like zines where he's a teenager still.) And a big Souther Salazar book! And a book of Dunja Jankovic's Ego minis.

Ah, among cartoonists whose early/out-of-print work most deserves a collection, I think Richard Hahn, Warren Craghead, Alyssa Berg, David Lasky are high on my list.
Co-sign Souther and Jankovic as well, absolutely, those are good picks. Bonus points if the prospect of a collection made either of them do new comics work.

Another interesting sub-category: English-language cartoonists whose work has been reissued in another language. The l'Association edition of Drechsler's Daddy's Girl comes to mind, as does the Cornelius edition of Mazz's Big Man from Rubber Blanket (why didn't I buy that when I had the chance???)

Now that Tit & Clits is out from Fantagraphics (and Wimmen Comix was also collected and published much earlier too), I am hoping there is some near future plans of putting out Twisted Sisters.

Any of the Nancy collections. The publishers are dropping the ball on that. I bet it would sell.
I’d also be interested in a collection of Carlos Gonzalez’s Slime Freak. I’ve never been able to find any of those

I’d also be interested in a collection of Carlos Gonzalez’s Slime Freak. I’ve never been able to find any of those I have a couple issues, I've been meaning scan them and attempt to crowd-source scans of the rest. I think part of why I haven't done this yet is I don't know if I should scan it quick and fast for internet distribution or get ambitious with it so that the files are good enough for a reprint. However it turns out I have less than I thought as after buying two issues I stopped keeping up because I figured Picturebox would collect it. Also I'm terrible at scanning. Don't know how many people watched the New York Comics Symposium video interviewing the guy from Teenage Dinosaur but the whole gist of his argument was: most comics are out of print. No matter your taste, as long as you go beyond like, the top five Batman graphic novels, some of your favorite comics are going to be out of print. And he encouraged artists to do reprints of minicomics, but also for people (like retailers) to partner up with artists to work on such reprints, as getting out the work that's good creates new readers.

I'd love to see the Complete Cul De Sac get reissued. The second-hand copies are very expensive to find.

Amnesia by Al Columbia. Even though it was published only a couple of years ago, it's impossible to find anywhere.

Sounds great youtu.be/6DE9Eu2vCXcIt's a great watch. The part about how "all your favorite comics are out of print" hits close to home, it's too real. Tim works at Floating World so of course his perspective is he probably has dozens of comics he wishes he could sell but can't because they're not available. I know I have ones I wish I could buy or tell friends to buy but they can't.

I know I have ones I wish I could buy or tell friends to buy but they can't. A friend wanting to get into alt comics asked me recently for recommendations. I felt that based on her taste, Lala Albert's comics would be a good match so I recommended Seasonal Shift. And later I realized it was completely out of print. We live in different countries so I cannot lend her my copy and she is super into the images of Albert's art that she has seen online. Of course I recommended other stuff but I feel really bad about it now :/

In my understanding, small publishers in the book trade specifically keep large back catalogues in print to create a steady income. It's part of the business model. Same goes for many authors.
Does publishing comics work differently?
Oh, and I'd like to see a lot more Mark Beyer back in print.

That would be a public service

i would love to see a trend of re-serializing stuff. like if a bunch of zines/singles were collected by a publisher but the collection is out of print it would be fun for the artist to re-serialize the singles like month-to-month as if they were just coming out. it feels like a book gets to a collection and then it just kind of dies, it either sells out and ends up on ebay for high prices or it languishes as backstock at a barnes & noble storage warehouse. a small print run can always be repeated, or just stay in circulation. i'm glad there seems to be a loose-ish trend of returning to serialization instead of keeping some big project secret for ten years as a big graphic novel. keep the minis out there circulating and bring them back whenever. this is also a great way to keep feeding smaller comic shops stuff to sell instead of letting big chains dominate the graphic novel market. barnes & noble is never gonna have a spinner rack.
