Sweet thanks for confirming. I don't know how they do it, but the shipping from the www.lespressesdureel.com site is ridiculously affordable!

Thanks for the recommendations, GHO & owaddled. Living in Mexico, the outlets I can get stuff from without having to pay insane shipping rates are somewhat restricted, but I'll keep my eyes open for your suggestions. Dal Tokyo, in particular, is one that was already in my radar, and regret not getting while it was still in print.

Just FYI on that Panter Land of the Unknown monograph. It’s good, but I’m also terrified of the binding. The paper stock is stiff and heavy, leading to great color reproduction. However, the binding is so tight that I fear that there’s almost no way to open the book all the way without cracking the spine. It’s a real shame because there’s then significant gutter loss.

I've spent a good amount of time with this book and it's still holding up, but yes, the binding is unfortunate. Still, the selection/printing is great. I think Blanquet edited it. There's basically a full William & Percy book in the middle.

There's always something more than a bit depressing about shopping at the Midtown Comics Astoria Outlet shop, but it's close enough to where I live that I end up there often enough, a usually find a cheap version of something I wouldn't have bothered looking for elsewhere.
This time I picked up the Regis Loisel Mickey Mouse: Zombie Coffee book, the '86 Helfer/Jose Luis Garcia Lopez Deadman miniseries, the Steve Yeowell/Morrison Sebastian O thing, and about a dozen issues of the '89 Giffen Legion of Superheroes.
The Loisel book looks pretty attractive; I vaguely remember earlier work of his drifting in and out of English language publication (90s Heavy Metal stuff? A Peter Pan thing?) and finding it somewhat hideous.

Bought this comic yesterday when I just spotted it in a bookstore nearby. I think it was originally published in France. I got it 'cause I have very little knowledge of manga other than gekiga, and I liked the variety of the covered artists.

Thanks to a hot tip from @jerrry James-- just ordered "Dream of the Bat" by Josh Simmons! On the Floating World site but hidden so that it takes a bit of scrolling to find. Thank you, Jerrry James!!!

Thanks to a hot tip from @jerrry James-- just ordered "Dream of the Bat" by Josh Simmons! On the Floating World site but hidden so that it takes a bit of scrolling to find. Thank you, Jerrry James!!! That's so rad, made me happy to see this haha. Last night I got a little busy with the clicking & after reading nothing but positivity & loving everything I've seen of it, I ordered Cheat Sheets by Tiger Tateishi from 50 watts (late to the game as always) & just saw it started the shipping process this morning so I'm extra glad. I also got another pre-order of my personal favorite e-comic, one of Very few that I manage to thoroughly enjoy & get a kick out of; it's called Krime Guys & it's at krimeguys.com . But it's like a funny graffiti comic about two dudes by somebody who isn't a lame & outside of the know. Ironically, if I saw it based purely on the art, I probably wouldn't like it, I'm not a big fan of digitally drawn comics the majority of the time, especially when it Looks digital, & the whole comic kind of has a YA look but definitely not YA material.. however I really enjoy the read (on Instagram) & the characters so I'm glad to support & finally read it properly, in my hands.

Had some time to kill, so I stopped by Local Heroes in Norfolk, VA and left with my wallet a bit lighter.

I bought John's Worth a couple weeks ago and finally had a minute to sit down and read it. The art is so great, I love shit that feels like the person just had to get their ideas onto paper.

Grixly 63&64, Nate McDonough (plus piece of original art) Catwoman 1-4, Darwyn Cooke Catwoman Lonely City, Cliff Chiang (angry review about this book on Goodreads by guy who hated the art. "Made her look like a retired schoolteacher!" and that's "not my girl Selina!" etc. He mentioned his preferred artist so I googled: Catwoman in super-tight purple with humongous bowling ball breasts) Flippy, Nate Garcia couple o' Bendis Daredevils
Fifty cent and dollar long boxes: Zot! #11, Bitch Planet Triple Feature #3, Trekker #4, Murder #2, Agent Unknown #1, Swords of the Swashbucklers #11, Bizarro's World! The Adventures of Superman #510, Dick Tracy Monthly #21 (Blackthorn's Publishing), Ninja #2 (beautiful ad for "The Uggly Family" by infamous Stosh Gillespie on back cover).

All from LCS:
Jaywalk #4. Purchase influenced by Shea/Forker flip-throughs on YouTube. Also remember AE writing he was especially proud of this issue. Chock-a-block with cool art. Juliette Collet! Lydia Manalis! Nicky Fowler! Ghouls #3. Couldn't resist special "overwhelming disgust and despair" issue. Covid cartoons by Josh Simmons. Signed in pencil. Keeping it with "Dream of the Bat" to pretend he signed that.
Special Strange #41.(French reprint) Bought for cover.
Monster Fan Club #1&2 by Shaky Kane, Jason T. Miles. Love the monster art, colors, tiger in a bonnet, insanity, etc. Bonus: Daria Tessler poster. Want to read Kane, Hine "Bulletproof Coffin" now.
Random addendum: Wish comic blurbs would retire phrase "Not for the faint of heart."
