I saw it show up in Wigshop's Instagram feed (the actual comic, so it's legit) and figured the "official" release date must be very soon. Or maybe Harkham just didn't care to do any press!

I assume most folks who wanted this have tracked it down...so let's talk about it!
The opening sequence was of course really compelling, and I think it functions on a few levels. The first several Blood of the Virgin chapters could reasonably be criticized for leaving Ida, the wife, in the background and obviously she comes to the forefront here. By the same token, there's clearly a lot happening with her sister, and I suspect we won't learn much if any more about her -- in the same way we didn't get much about Ida previously, and that we don't get much about her mother beyond the opening sequence. So that sequence, and in fact the issue as a whole, serve as a quiet proof of concept for the claim that all of these background characters are fully realized, that we could spend 10 or 20 or 48 pages with any of them.
Also the R Fiore letter in the back was completely insane.

I'll admit- between the prior issues and the story in Kramers, I've been operating under the impression that Blood was largely some umbrella project to pay tribute to Harkham's reverence for the history of filmmaking... so the opening sequence and ensuing story really caught me off guard.
I found the opening sequence- silent and matter of fact- utterly harrowing, just fucking devastating... that we know Ida's mother, is judging her privileged daughter more or less silently through the eyes of someone who's gone through something literally unspeakable (plus we find out Ida has no idea about her first, deceased daughter!!)...
I wonder what's going on with Rachel? Is she mentally ill and cracking? Or just a sad weirdo?
I'm assuming the story is moving in the direction of hereditary trauma as it relates to the Jewish diaspora (explored a little bit in previous issues at the party where the old men talk about life back in the middle east)....
Anyway, I remember hearing rumors of a Crickets color special in the works. Hopefully it continues the story.
