Tabling at Short Run for the first time this weekend, anyone else gonna be there? Or any suggestions for stuff to do? I'm flying in Friday noonish, flying back to NYC Saturday night after the show but down to clown on Friday.

Friday night there is some event at the Fantagraphics Bookstore, which also doubles as a mini-gallery of sorts. Whenever they have events they are really fun, though the store is pretty small so expect it to get packed. If you do go, be sure to check out the backroom for half-priced books and plenty of old floppies in long boxes.
Push/Pull is a cool collectively-ran comic shop/art store in Ballard that carries almost exclusively zines and independently published comics.
For manga, check out the Kinokuniya bookstore in the Asian supermarket Uwajamiya. The upstairs section has an overwhelming selection, ranging from mainstream serials to independent books. There’s even a wall exclusively dedicated to Breakdown Press! This store within a store is a bit of a hidden gem, I didn’t know about it until five years living here in Seattle.
Not comics, but any self-respecting movie fan needs to take a trip to Scarecrow Video, the largest remaining video store and (as far as I know) largest library of physical movies in the world.
