So, the Love And Rockets box set is out now. I am not the target demo -- too rich for my blood -- but I remember buying the big Palomar hardcover bak when that came out, to first experience that material, and also buying the Poison River trade because that wasn't included. I later learned the last volume in Palomar had some stuff edited out because it tied too directly into Poison River and wouldn't make sense without it. Poison River also had a bunch of pages added into it as a graphic novel that weren't in the original serialization, and therefore wouldn't be in the big box set either. I know there's pages Clowes redrew for the Ghost World graphic novel that would be different than they are in the new collection that represents the "complete" version of the original issues. Chester Brown has revised his older material a good amount, although there's no Complete Yummy Fur box set. For the Clowes stuff, I feel like I'm good with the graphic novels I bought in high school, those books are great, and I have no interest in a box set. But I did buy that Julie Doucet Dirty Plotte box set because I hadn't read that stuff before. I just saw a thing on the Copacetic web site blurbing My New York Diary saying that book had been revised somewhat from its original serialization. Is there anything I'm missing having the big box set? (Besides the material by other artists that was edited out?) I just want to have a thread that can talk about this stuff, as it feels like part of the point of these box sets is for the people who've read the graphic novel collections, but part of it is also just to be the version that's in print and available and therefore is the version that people actually read.
