Is there really no dedicated thread already to comic book podcasts?
Anyways, there's only one comic book podcast, CBABIH, and it just dropped a new episode, first one since....November '22?

THE dudes. THE podcast. Always thrilled to listen to another episode, I desperately wish it came out more often

absolutely The Dudes, hyped for the new ep. love those folks.
Tucker's movie podcast Travis Bickle on the Riviera is great too, they haven't done one of those in a while either though.

I gotta shout out The Gals, aka Thick Lines, which regularly posts new episodes, even if it seems like a lot of the ones I want to hear are increasingly just on their Patreon (Zero Girl ep, Cats Of The Louvre).

Has anybody listened to this podcast Mangasplaining, hosted by Chris Butcher and Deb Aoki? Was totally off my radar, no idea if they're good/entertaining hosts, but I guess they have enough clout to get stuff licensed. Butcher is an old-school Beguiling/TCAF dude whose old online comics magazine PopImage (? Was a long time ago) I liked. Anyway I guess they got a deal with Substack where they license stuff for substack, or somehow got stuff lined up to be published in English. Like, Fantagraphics is doing a thing next year called Search And Destroy, based on Dororo but by the Bambi And Her Pink Gun lady, that I guess they set up? Here's the substack post here they run down everything they're announcing: mangasplaining.substack.com/p/msx-announces-four-new-manga-licensesWould love it if Thick Lines or CBABIH had comparable clout to get book deals for stuff.

I've slept on Mangasplaining. That they hooked up a deal for Search and Destroy was a crazy surprise
I really liked Butcher's various writings back in the day. He seems like an interesting guy.

I listened to it when it first started but got kinda turned off when they pivoted to the substack stuff. Chris, Deb, and David are all very hooked into the manga industry. At least one of the hosts is an editor at Viz. Not to mention Chip Zdarsky being a part of it. They all have a lot of clout.
And Katie Skelly does have her own imprint now, though it's not directly related to Thick Lines.
