Who’s going to Short Run this Saturday? What’s hip and happening in Seattle?

I'll be there. I'll be the Friday party, probably the short run after party on Saturday night too.
On Friday Anand and I are doing a little Q&A thing. I'm excited, it's his first time ever in America, and my first time meeting him in person.

I am pretty sure Molly O'Connell will have on hand issue 2 of her series Pebbles, I thought issue 1 was excellent. Not sure she's done a west coast comics show before either.

A few recommended spots for people visiting Seattle for the first time.
Scarecrow Video (University District) - World’s largest video store and one of the biggest physical libraries. Highly recommended for any film fan! Amazing Thai (University District) - Just a few doors down from Scarecrow. Great Thai food made by the nicest family! Thai food in general is really good in Seattle, so you can’t really go wrong no matter where you go. Twice Sold Tales (Capitol Hill) - Labyrinthine used book store with a pretty decent used comics section, I even found a copy of Kramers Ergot 5 from them a few months back. Many cats! Good for cat lovers, bad for those with allergies. Peloton Cafe (Central District) - Cool bike shop-cafe hybrid. No affiliation with that dumb stationary bike! Incredible breakfast sandwiches. Chu Minh Tofu (International District) - Hole in the wall vegan spot with some of the cheapest banh mi in the city. The corner it’s on is pretty sketchy, and inside is a little dingy, but the food is well worth it! Fantagraphics Bookstore (Georgetown) - Duh! Make sure to check the back room for half-priced books. They’ll often have brand new books with the slightest damage or printing errors for half price, as well has longboxes full of half-priced books. Left Bank Books (Pike Place) - Anarchist bookstore and zine shop. Located across from Pike Place Market, which is cooler than your average tourist trap.
For food in Seattle, you can’t really go wrong with Thai, Vietnamese, or Ethiopian, and all these spots are good on a budget. Seafood is pretty damn good out here, and if you want to be bougie, there are plenty of great spots to get oysters, which can be a treat for people visiting from landlocked areas. If anyone has any more specific questions, I can try and help!
