Recently Gannett, a newspaper chain with over 300 papers, standardized their comics section. One of the fallout to this is that this automatically erased female cartoonists from the pages, the only major survivor being Lynn Johnston's "For Better or For Worse", which has been in reruns for the past 20 years. It was covered in the Daily Cartoonist:
One of the cartoonists that's been speaking out is Georgia Dunn of "Breaking Cat News", who is devoting this week's strips to the cutback
Newspapers has been in decline for many years now, but this is still a very egregious injustice in the medium, and it needs to be said about it by other cartoonists.
