I want to get some t-shirts made from some of my comix art and started doing some research and find there's a bewildering variety of options. Anyone have any advice or recommendation? I like the idea of online print-on-demand (a RedBubble or the like), particularly because it'll allow my work to be easily distributed in the USA (I'm based in Europe currently).

my experience with print-on-demand has been dogshit and the graphics/illustrations fade really fast. i got a threadless shirt from dustin harbin and it was just a blank shirt after like 2 washes.
screenprinting is more costly but lasts forever!

I have used TeeSpring before and it was fine. The prints on multiple shirts from them have held up for years at this point better than some screenprinted shirts I have. Results will vary, but print-on-demand/direct to garment=shit and screenprint=quality are not universal truths by any means.

Printful is probably your best bet, offers the most options for product types and includes direct-to-garment printing, embroidery, sublimation. I think it requires you to have your own separate online storefront, but it's pretty easy to sync to stuff bigcartel or etsy and the like. Quality has been better and more consistent than stuff like teepublic in my experience, though they'll just use whatever printing place in their network that's closest to the address of the person who placed the order, so you never know. You can adjust the profit margins to your liking but they'll always be pretty slim unless you're brazen enough to charge boutique streetwear prices.
