In recent days Webtoons, a popular webcomic platform from South Korea, has been under heavy criticism from other comic creators over its exploitative contract for their Originals line-up.
I never heard good things about how Webtoons treat their creators, and seeing the specifics laid out really illustrates it.

Tale as old as time... shit like this is what's killed a lot of the film/tv industry for me, streaming platforms having too much control over creatives. We're lucky that for now that cartoonists can still make books, self-publish, work with small publishers, etc. But I'll admit that hearing that everyone in Korea read comics on their phones sounded kinda cool to me at first, but money ruins everything.
I wonder if this affects Ma Young-sin. He's the only artist I know who publishes on Webtoons that I know I like a lot. I really want more work of his in English.
