Chicago expat here, now living in D.C. I'm heading back home in a couple weeks and planning to check out the Graham Crackers on Broadway in light of advice on the Comic Book Stores thread (h/t maxmorris). And I'm crushed to learn, just now, that the MCA's exhibit is ending at the beginning of October!

That the fifty cent bins at the Broadway Graham Crackers went up to 75 cents recently

Lived in Chicago for seven years before moving to LA last July. The food sucks and there's too many yuppies but I miss it.

I like living in Bridgeport so far. It sounds like Josh lived in a yuppie neighborhood with bad food, so sure that might be rough. Hope you found your people and on behalf of Chicagoans we wish you the best in LA.
Anyway the Cultural Center Show is great, the MCA show ended yesterday. The Bill Mauldin show is worth seeing. I haven't seen the Marvel Comics show though I heard they have some Jack Kirby originals?
Quimby's and Graham Crackers by Millenium Park are the only comic book stores I've been to since moving here. I'd like to make Quimby's more of a regular trip. Then maybe Myopic.
We're getting a bookstore here in Bridgeport named Tangible Books and I intend to give them my money, I hope it's cool. It's the family who started Myopic? There's an article to it somewhere but I lost the link.
I'm trying to build a comics factory here in Bridgeport/Gridsport, and so far I've put out 4 zines since May.

Any visits to the Comics exhibitions going on there?? -- I can't get enough of the reports I've seen. Post more since I can't travel still. Thanks.

Are me and maxmorris the only Chicago boarders or what. I'll let the thread die if so, but c'mon there's gotta be more?

My heart is in Chicago, Kevin. (Body: in D.C.) I'm heading to visit my mom and grandmother in Evanston this weekend. It's been a Long Minute. I'm hoping to swing by Chicago Comics in Lakeview (it's been an especially Long Minute) and maybe Comix Revolution up in Evanston (where I've found some surprising stuff in the past). Might also be coming back for work later in the month, so I'm hoping to get a little more time in the city then.
Are there any particular exhibits, shows, or events I should be aware of?
