I don't know, I'm bad at keeping up with that kind of stuff, honestly. The only new thing I know about is Tangible Books in Bridgeport, a new good bookstore started by the family that started Myopic

Store reports: - Chicago Comics has an odd array of small press stuff. (I don't read much superhero stuff, but the selection seems gigantic.) They have a couple of Carlos Gonzalez books I've never seen in person, the new Steve Aylett comics (which I picked up), and some comics I'm sure were in the very same place as when I was last there in about 2014. Good sale selections, very big back issue bins if you're into that. The one book I saw that I thought people might be after is Porn Basket by Johnny Ryan, which I know sold out in about a day. They have two copies. - Comix Revolution: another sorta odd collection. What stood out to me was that they seemed to have an outsized manga section -- all of Junji Ito, etc. -- and some solid small press pamphlet choices. My picks: No. 5 #1 by Taiyo Matsumoto and Cometbus No. 55 (both at the suggestion of whitecomics) at CR, the Steve Aylett books at CC, and a cheap copy of Asterios Polyp (which two separate people have borrowed and never returned) from the very good used bookshop in Evanston, Amaranth Books.

I recommended Matsumoto for grubcubman who hasn't read much manga, I stand by that for anyone else in the same boat. Hope you enjoy Cometbus too! That could be a good discussion topic here, zines like Cometbus that overlap with the comics world while remaining more entrenched in the punk/personal zine tradition. If anyone hasn't read the latest issue, 59, I found it one of the best pieces I've ever read on the topic of growing older in an art scene, watching projects and people come and go while wondering if it all mattered.
