It's clean & functional. My heart will always have a nostalgia-hazed fondness for early 00s TCJ (although the design was probably still mid 90s at that point), lurking all the ego stoushing that happened on the message board (and which I was much too tongue tied at the time to participate in myself).

I liked the old page because it looked like a newspaper. I like old styled websites, they always seem to be more function over design. Old TCJ just needed a way to see old articles better. Just my personal taste. I have TCJ in my RSS feed so I'm barely on the homepage anyways.

I've just discovered that this is a specific Australasian slang word (I'm from New Zealand) - what I mean was there were a lot of big argumentative personalities on there!

It appeared slightly before the redesign--definitely not long ago--but if anyone isn't aware, the TCJ weekly newsletter has started including a short "From the Archives" section with material that I don't think they're posting anywhere else. It was excerpts from the student publication associated with Kurtzman's SVA classes fro several weeks, now they've moved on to (appropriately) a variety of horror material.

I don't hate it, it's certainly attractive enough, but I'm with Bubs; the newspap'ry feel of the out-of-date webspace was much more my speed. I imagine that it will be great for those that like to conduct their business on their telephones, seems quite scroll-friendly, and I can't fault them for catching up with the times/tendencies a bit, yet my first impression is that charm, and utility, has been cast off for contemporization.
Eh, give me a month and I'll be all about it.

I was resistant at first until I saw it on a phone.
