I'm thinking of picking up a volume or two of the Complete Crepax today (in light of Fanta's 40% off sale), but I'm wondering: Is it just impossible to find Volume 1? And these books certainly aren't cheap -- anyone want to comment on whether they're worthwhile? Thank you!
Edit: Well I went big with volumes 2 and 3 (and that's it).

They have these at my local library for some reason, along with collected volumes of Vampirella. I'm trying to picture whoever at the library is choosing them. Every other library I've been to is more likely to have at least 2 copies of In the Shadow of No Towers. I've only read his early comics with the Valentina character. They're more pop art, kind of like if David Stone Martin drew Barbarella:

I got the first two on sale years ago. I love them. They're absolutely amazing but not the kind of thing where I need a new volume every year, ha. Let's say the whole set ends up being twelve books. That's almost $1000 retail. Yikes. It's an incredible undertaking for fanta and they're doing it RIGHT (the books are gorgeous, huge, heavy, line up beautifully on a shelf) but for me it was enough to get a couple and not let the completionist in me take hold.
If you're into what you see, I definitely recommend picking one up.

I don't have any of the Fanta ones but I have some older hardcovers and highly recommend them. Story of O and Emmanuelle, Bianca, and Venus in Furs are all amazing, not sure which Fanta volumes those are in. I think it's rare to see someone that technically skilled and experimental also have really strong narrative and pacing skills. There are some truly wild page layouts in there that all read perfectly and are somehow not overwhelming or confusing at all. I like weird hard to read stuff too but Crepax is like the best of all of those worlds IMHO.
