Hey,
Thought it'd be good to start a thread for UK/EU people. Part of this is to get cool reccomendations for small press stuff in the UK/EU... part of this is to gripe about how expensive/difficult it is to get cool US small press stuff
I'm Amirziai1000 - I post pieces and sometimes comics on insta.

I have the opposite problem where there’s a lot of Euro stuff that is pricey and hard to find- def UK is a whole other level though.

Nice thread! Even though I am in Europe, I usually hear more about American small press than the one around here, so it would be rad to get recommendations from others. The latest thing I got was the anthology 'Torrent'. I haven't received it yet, and cannot wait to read it! Also, I guess now Sunday 3/4 of O. Schrauwen would be an interesting buy, but I missed on the first two issues, so I am waiting (hoping) a collected version will be published in the near future.

I bought sometimes directly from Breakdown Press, but now it is kind of impossible to buy from UK with all those taxes...

I live in the UK and the last few years whenever I've been doing orders from US cartoonists/Fantagraphics, I've been splitting the cost with friends who also want to get the same books. For example, when Fantagraphics release an exclusive thing with Hanselmann's newest book, we all go 3-ways and it really beings the cost down. Then I'll ship them to their house or drop it off when I visit their town.
Hopefully more people can get in on this whenever Kilgore/Fantagraphics etc.. release items that don't have Diamond/comic book shop distribution. Maybe this is the perfect place for that sort of thing!

I know I'm a stranger on the internet mamalips, but if you ever do a group purchase for Kilgore Books, I'd be very interested in getting in - I'm London based and want to get my paws on both the Alex Graham and Van Sciver books, but not keen on paying as much for shipping as the books themselves...

If you are interested in Kilgore books: Not sure how much the shipping + taxes would be worthy for UK-based, but I have seen that Little Deer Comics in Dublin has right now books from the last Kilgore Kickstarter . (https://littledeercomics.ie/)

I used to love getting a box of books from Fantagraphics, but when the postage to UK/EU doubled (or more) I had to stop. It's so frustrating when creators I love put out new comics but the postage is more than the cover price. I can't justify paying 20€ for one comic. I would love to get my hands on the Kilgore books!

Have you been to alltheproblemsinthisworld.com/ in Berlin? Seems like they carry great stuff, they'd probably carry Kilgore. I've sold them Bubbles a couple times.

That place looks great. I was away from Berlin for a few years, then shortly after I moved back here Corona hit. So I haven't really seen what's around these days.

Bumping this thread back from the dead as a new-ish UK poster. Based in the North-west and pretty much only Travelling Man in Manchester that I know of stocking indie stuff? Are all the cool comics folks hanging out somewhere else without me?
