He took them all down because he was getting too many messages haha. I hope he puts them back up one by one.

While walking to my room to go to bed at 1:00am, I checked eBay and the first two sets of these were up. Ended up waiting until everything was posted and managed to grab 5 pages. Mistuhiro Asakawa was extremely nice and informative in our messages back and forth and dropped that he would mail the pages out on his way to go see Yoshiharu Tsuge in Tokyo the next day. Ended up getting to bed at 5:30am. Pages arrived today and just can't believe it, Tatsumi has been a favorite since that first Drawn & Quarterly book came out in 2005, when I was working at Borders in Chicago and purchased it with my monthly store credit.

Wow five! That's amazing. I heard Asakawa sold too many to fast and got annoyed by all the messages, which he require to purchase haha, so he took them all down. I wonder if he'll put any back up. Pretty amazing to be able to own one of these. So little manga art is out there for sale, especially by artists we actually know and love. I mean the Billy Ireland owns one Tezuka piece, that's it. I got mine in the mail yesterday, here's some close ups on it and the back. I always love to see the backsides of pieces like this. And so I can remember here's the ebay description:

Wild that's why he pulled the rest off. He was nice in all our correspondence and it was above and beyond. Like he was telling me little anecdotes, about his background and stuff. Hopefully he puts them up again so more people can get some.
Brian those close ups are cool. Mine too, all have glued newspaper(?) on the back in the same spot. Also of note for process heads:
- All pages are ruled with small pin punches and pencil, and the panels in some that take up two rows have been erased so it seems these were all pre gridded. - From what I can make out is there is a light non-photo blue on the paper that seems painted on and it's what becomes grey in the book. - There is pencil drawing under the ink with both lead and red colored pencil. - He used both ink and a thick marker for the heavy letters and some fill ins.
Thanks for the reference! I saw the same pages on another site and they seem to be the only shots I could find from the book. Gotta hunt down a copy that will ship to the US!
