A trio of new books from Mansion Press, two new Josh Simmons and a Johnny Ryan reprint. I like this trend of boutique European publishing houses doing original releases and reprints of works in English, although vaguely curious about the economics of it...

Grabbed Bum, the new volume of ES Glenn's Unsmooth. It's style is all over the place, I'm psyched to dig in.

Somewhere to post your most recent purchases. If posting contemporary comics, post a link where others can scoop it too! I bought more Scarpa: Atomo Bleep-Bleep! Also I know I'm very late to the party but I finally picked up a copy of Puke Force.

That Garfield and his 9 Lives is a really surprising book. I had it as a kid, and it was, dare I say it, experimental in places. It is not what you're thinking of when you think of Garfield in at least half the book.
I got Manuele Fior's Celestia and can't wait to read it. He's probably my favorite Euro artist at the moment, neck and neck with Paco Roca

My most recent in-person pick-up was this pair of beauties by undersung Scottish genius John G. Miller: Found them used at the excellent local shop Toadvine Books - run by Luke Janes, one of the fellas that brought Kilgore Books into the world - but you still have an easy swing at them here in the states thanks to the almighty John P: www.spitandahalf.com/product-tag/john-g-miller/Care for a sample splash? EDIT: Fixed the post to read, 'almighty John P'. John K? Nope. Ooops.

Pardon the double post, but I might as well show off the haul from earlier in the same day that brought me those Miller books up above --- Vault of Midnight in Detroit was having a grand opening celebration for their new location, and with that came an outdoor tent full of bananas deals: Dollar flops are pretty standard, and the top leftmost duo here were pulls, but... ...I'm plenty happy to have found these Fanta All Times. Half way to making my trade obsolete. The true craziness was on the GN tables - barely dinged piles of randoms going for $2 apiece! A whole mess of Mignola short stories, Corben inclusive; all those Bolton back-ups I remember enjoying when I was a tot; and Lesniewski's latest. I don't know about Lady Killer yet, but the nice lady manning the tent was all about it. Also found this splay of Viz biz that I was hoping to buy some day anyway, with a little side of Uncivilized and D&Q... ...and a fine stack of dupes, soon to become trades and gifts: Full confession, they really gouged me on the Druillet; $3 instead of $2! All that and a free short box to cart it home in. Oh! I also encountered this framed portrait of the Man of Steel: I hope he found a good home. It was a solid morning.
