Was reading some Heather McAdams comics tonight and I thought of this thread. She was pretty great! Would love to see her do something again. I almost (along with Summer Pierre) approached Heather McAdams about doing a book collection a few years back, but got cold feet. Maybe next year once I semi-retire from the distro I'll have more time (but less money, sigh) to do something like that (assuming she's even interested). And yes, Jenny's still working! She just published a new zine called Love and Other Crack-ups. We intentionally didn't include everything in the book so she could have her more recent zines available as affordable, standalone entries into her work. Hopefully there will be a Volume Two! So glad to see the love for her here!

After I made this post I actually discovered she makes calendars every year, I ordered one from a local chicago record store. It's country music themed. I love it! I'll post some photos of it later. But this is basically it but for 2023: http://instagr.am/p/CYZ2PHvvTTG

I had a Heather McAdams cartoon from the Reader taped up in my High School locker for years. Funniest thing ever. It was a dog sitting at a big desk with a childish drawing of a person on a piece of paper in front of it. Looking over the dog's shoulder was a guy in a suit saying "Head's too big."

I would have said Michael Dougan, but sadly he just passed away. Had never heard of him until I found a copy of I Can't Tell You Anything in a dollar bin mostly full of old Hero Illustrateds earlier this year. A really incredible storyteller, very funny, great artist, and unique mind.

I'm reading Adam Hines' Duncan the Wonder Dog right now and it's really great, I hope that it continues or he comes back but that feels less and less likely with AdHouse's shutdown, it being the first of a projected nine volumes and his day job as a game writer. Still holding out hope though.
