Dude I thought I would hate Dungeon Synth because it’s corny as fuck and black metal adjacent but I’m super into it lately. Gonna check these out tonight for sure

if im just doing illo/designing i listen to dry as fuck podcasts, recently Bizarre Albums with Tony Thaxton which is just factoids and samples from novelty records from the 70s. its kind of corny, but ill put Crash Course History videos on my phone and prop it up next to my workspace when im on a long haul project or if im printing/folding/stapling, you can just crush them at warp speed and pick up some rudimentary AP World History cant listen to anything where two people talk to each other unless its an interview

legendary DS classic I’ve also used this one for work, helps that it’s over an hour long

When I'm working on designing pages for bubbles sometimes I'll just listen to the same song on repeat for hours haha I listened to Yamantaka // Sonic Titan's DIRT album 40 times in a row while finishing the final pages of Dakwäkãda Warriors haha

Great thread/question - for me, it's usually horror podcasts when I'm just drawing, and either metal or sad music when I'm writing!

I like to put on Throbbing Gristle or Psychic TV and lose myself in a drawing. 70s Dub playlists on Youtube are also good for this purpose. If I’m just sketching for kicks it’s usually to Guided by Voices but that’s just because I have them on more often than not.

I liked it though.

Been obsessed with J-Fusion bands like Casiopea, T-Square and Katsumi Horii Project, kind of a Japanese take on early Herbie Hancock or Chick Corea that got progressively more influenced by upbeat keyboard and synth work as the 80's went on. High-energy enough to keep me awake and on-track, but no lyrics to diatract me while I'm working. Really captures the vibe of the era this music came from. youtu.be/IfYkUPr8WW4

For a recent comic I was working I listened to a three song playlist on loop for about 20 days straight. Lol. Kate Bush- Wuthering Heights Mica Levi- Love Nicole Dollanganger- Flowers of flesh and blood
I don't listen to anything with words/lyrics while I write, but sometimes songs just become background like these did.

It's mostly Nujabes. But sometimes I listen to old radio shows, currently going through one called 'The Navy Lark'.

If I'm writing/thumbnailing I can't listen to anything with words. Lots of ambient stuff, LOTS of Brian Eno and Harold Budd. When I'm drawing/inking/etc I listen to audiobooks, primarily, all through the Libby app which lets you borrow from your local library.

Mostly Jazz Fusion/Instrumental Rock stuff. Been on a big krautrock kick lately. I'll also throw on podcasts and ambient music once and a while too.
